Oscar de la Renta's resort collection paid playful homage to Picasso via cubist prints and bold allusions to Spain, the artist's homeland, without compromising the classic elegance for which Oscar is known. Dresses were treated with patchwork and embroidery, and finished off with hats that looked stolen from a flamenco dancer's closet. Speaking of flamenco, a ruffled red dress that flounced down the runway needed only a set of castanets, as did a polka-dot strapless dress with a flirty peplum hem. The large collection also showed swim, like a deep v-neck one-piece and knit tap shorts with a crop top. Finishing the show were Oscar's evening gowns, the highlight of which might have to be an emerald green one-shoulder dress worn by Candice Swanepoel.
The arty patchwork feel of these two dresses makes ODLR so wearable for pottering around the local town!
