Hairstyle by Marc Jacobs Frizz

April showers may bring May flowers, but wet weather conditions and rising humidity can really do a number on your hair. Luckily, Marc Jacobs embraced frizzy locks on the runway, turning this hair hysteria into a fabulous spring style. Put down your balms and stash your smoothing serums because this season is all about embracing unruly frizz.

Purposeful frizz can be playful and flirty, allowing you to channel your inner '70s glamazon. This particular look from the Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2011 show (a similar look was done at the Marc Jacobs presentation as well) is soft, bouncy and feminine; but still loud enough for those of you with daring street style. According to Allure, hair stylist and Creative Consultant for Redken, Guido Palau heated rick-rack pins to set each wave. Don't fret, fancy bobby pins are not necessary to achieve this stunning runway look at home.

Start by applying a thickening serum to wet hair in order to create extra body. Crimp hair in one-inch sections until your entire head is complete. Don't worry if you don't own a crimper, because braiding creates the same results. Pleat your hair into thin, small braids in order to achieve an ultra tight wave. Make sure to make braids small, otherwise hair will turn out crimped and lack that animalistic frizz-factor. Spritz the braids with a medium-hold hair spray and leave them to set overnight. After removing pleats the following day, brush out hair and amplify the crimps with considerable back-combing for the perfect Marc Jacobs frizz.
